Legal information

Privacy Notice

This notice reflects the services currently used in the WIT{CH} codebase.

1. Controller and project status

WIT{CH} is currently a personal student/project initiative and not a registered company. The responsible person and postal/contact details must be inserted manually before final public launch.

2. What data is processed

The platform may process account data such as email address and authentication identifiers, profile data such as name, location, languages, interests and visibility settings, and content or interactions submitted through mentorship, community, event, opportunity, partner and contact features.

3. Why data is processed

Data is processed to operate user accounts, provide authenticated platform features, persist mentorship requests, mentor applications, saved opportunities, event RSVPs, community posts and profile settings, respond to contact requests, and maintain platform security and reliability.

4. Service providers

WIT{CH} uses Supabase for authentication, database, storage and related backend services; Vercel for hosting and deployment; and Resend for transactional email such as contact messages and event notifications where configured.

5. International transfer and storage

Supabase, Vercel and Resend may process or store data in countries outside Switzerland or the EEA depending on their infrastructure and project configuration. Production settings should be reviewed before launch to choose suitable regions and data processing terms.

6. Analytics and tracking

No Google Analytics or external analytics tracking is implemented in the current codebase. If analytics are added later, this notice must be updated before enabling them in production.

7. Retention and user control

Data is retained for as long as needed to provide the platform, evaluate the thesis prototype, resolve support requests, or comply with legal obligations. Users can update profile information in the platform and may request deletion or correction through the contact page.

8. Security

The platform uses authenticated access, Supabase Row Level Security policies where migrations are applied, controlled service keys, and reasonable application security headers. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Updates and contact

This Privacy Notice may change as WIT{CH} evolves. Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact page until dedicated legal contact details are added.
